Advanced Placement

Advanced Placement (AP) is a program created by the College Board which offers college-level curriculum and examinations to high school candidates in the United States and Canada. Under this curriculum candidates get a chance to experience college-level work while they’re still in high school (learning online or in the classroom).

AP courses and examinations:
AP Capstone Diploma Program is a two-years program based on two specific AP courses known as AP Research and AP Seminar respectively.
AP Research and AP Seminar plays a major role in the AP Capstone Diploma Program. Candidates fulfilling the requirements will receive AP Research and Seminar certificate, and if they take both classes in along with four other AP courses and exams, they will earn an AP Capstone Diploma. The academic rewards are recognized by colleges and universities around the world.

AP examinations are generally grouped into different subject areas such as:

? Language & Culture

And under these subject areas various course options are available. AP exams are usually conducted in the month of May every year and the exam duration is between 2-3hour. The basic exam pattern consists of free response questions and foreign language tests include listening components as well.
AP curriculum is rigorous and the scores are awarded on a scale of 1- 5. However many American colleges and universities grant advance placement and course credit to candidates who obtain high scores ( score 3 and above). Interestingly they allow candidates with good scores to skip the equivalent course once they get to college.
