Father of Mathematics

Archimedes:

Archimedes of Syracuse was born in 287 BC. He was born in Syracuse, Sicily, Magna Graecia. He is known for Archimedes' principle, Archimedes' screw, hydrostatics, levers, infinitesimals, neusis constructions. Archimedes is interested in many fields like mathematics, physics, engineering, astronomy, and invention.

Although Archimedes life history is only little known, he was famous as a leading scientist in classical antiquity. Archimedes also anticipated modern calculus and analysis by the application of concepts like infinitesimals and the method of exhaustion. He also drew his interests into geometrical theorems, which made him introduce the area of a circle, the surface area, and the volume of a sphere. He also introduced the area under a parabola.

He also achieved many other formulas and new innovative theorems in mathematics. Some of them are like deriving an approximate value of pi, defining and investigating the spiral bearing his name. He made his name in the history of mathematics by becoming the first person to apply mathematics to physical phenomena. Thereby, he founded hydrostatics and statistics. He also explained the principle of the lever.

Archimedes also created unique works in the history by designing innovative machines such as his screw pumps, compound pulleys. He also invented defensive war machines to protect his Syracuse from invasion. In antiquity, his mathematics inventions are little known.

In the Sand Reckoner, Archimedes mentioned his father's name as Phidias and no other details were known about his father. The sand Reckoner is a work done by Archimedes where he used to set out to determine for the number of grains of sand which can be fit into the universe. For this, he needs to estimate the size of the universe based in the contemporary models. He basically needs a way to invent so that he can talk about large numbers.

In 1906, during the discoveries of his previously unknown works by Archimedes, Archimedes palimpset has provided new insights. Archimedes died during the Siege of Syracuse as he was killed by a Roman soldier at the age of 65.

Mathematics is a well-known subject and which is used in teaching for students. There is a wide range of history for mathematics. As we all know that Mathematics is the study of topics like quantity, structure, space, and change. Mathematics seek and use patterns in which true and false statements are used to justify the conjunctive.

Entirely new mathematical disciplines, such as statistics and game theory was formed by applied mathematics. Mathematicians will either engage in pure mathematics or for mathematics' own sake. Often, practical applications which are useful to form pure mathematics is discovered.

During early ages, mathematics is just a number. They used to collect two apples and two oranges and hence they just give numbers to those quantities. Mathematics can never have a generally applied definition.
